Records at SCCHS with a Note: St Charles Death Records, document that Elijah Baker is buried at Black Walnut Cemetery. These records show that Elijah was 49 when he died on 13 Mar 1899.

We have not located him on any Census documents or any documents at the SCCHS. Perhaps he was working in the area or passing through and died of an illness or injury? We will continue researching to answer these questions. We plan to followup on locating the St. Charles Death Records from that time period.

During the cemetery restoration of 2020-2021, no grave stone was found for Elijah Baker.
