Jane Ann “Jennie” Harris Jameson is buried at Black Walnut Cemetery. She was born on 15 Sep 1841 in Montgomery County and died on 2 Aug 1903. There is a wealth of information available about Jane Harris’ family and their time in Montgomery County. Her husband Waller Jameson was a Black Walnut postmaster in 1894.

Her death notice in the St. Charles Daily Banner News is not clear on where she died, but does say she was buried at Black Walnut Cemetery. Neither her head stone nor foot stone was located during the cemetery restoration of 2020-2021.

The 1900 census shows that she and her husband were at the residence of Waller Johnson’s brother John in Portage Des Sioux.

Jane is the grandmother of Dora Meyer who is also buried at Black Walnut Cemetery.
